I help those managing a crisis and those going through one.
I have worked in security for twenty-five years and in psychotherapy for the past ten. In both professions, my work is primarily with people: managers responsible for difficult decisions, and people going through a difficult time themselves.
I started in the Jewish communities in Prague. I later led the protection team at Radio Free Europe and, as deputy security director, was responsible for its foreign offices. I have served as security director for several organizations and co-authored the Czech Ministry of the Interior’s guidance on soft-target protection. After the shooting at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in December 2023, I served on the University’s Central Crisis Staff.
Through this work, I met managers under pressure, employees affected by incidents and people coming to terms with traumatic experiences. I wanted to understand what they were going through and be better able to help. This gradually led me to psychotherapy.
Today I work in both professions and enjoy both. In each, I want to understand the person, their situation and what they need at that moment.
My security work draws on twenty-five years of experience with the Israeli approach to security, alongside my training in Rogerian psychotherapy. This helps me talk with managers under pressure, understand relationships within a team and work with people in crisis.
